Bearings
This Olympic barbell uses 8 bearings, with 4 needle bearings on each of the rotating sleeves for smooth sleeve rotation, and 1 damping sleeve, designed to reduce pressure on wrists and forearms, and match the catching needs of the snatch and clean & jerk.
The weight plates are secured with the groove on the sleeve. The groove provides more friction and reduces the wobble of the weight plates when having weight lifting workouts.
